| Media Awareness Workshop An emergency or contingency must not only be well managed, but others must see it as being well managed. The perception of the media plays a strong part in what the public sees and thinks. Managed well it can be a bonus. Therefore all companies should have addressed the probabilities of an incident and built a Communication’s Plan. The goals of a Contingency Communication’s Plan are to manage the incident by controlling or influencing all aspects of communications, limiting or avoiding damage to the Company/ship’s owner and restoring order as smoothly and quickly as possible.
