Ship & Port Facility Security Code (Ship) All ships over 500GT require to operate with a Ship Security Certificate (SSC) based on the Ship Security Plan (SSP) that comply with the requirements of the ISPS Code (2004). The basic requirements for accreditation with the ISPS Code are that the ship completes a Ship Security Assessment (SSA) and from this identifies what is required to comply with the Code. Implementing changes where necessary a Ship Security Plan (SSP) is compiled with processes, procedures and, if required, assets to ensure the security of the ship at the different Security Levels identified in the ISPS Code.
