COMPANY PROFILE Knightsmart Limited was established in 1999 to provide consultancy and auditing in ship related activities ashore and afloat. Primarily this covers the development, production and implementation in all areas of safety, security, quality and risk management systems. In addition, the company provides personnel training and development, research, interim management, expert witness and claim’s facilitation in a variety of marine related industries. Over the past five years this consultancy has taken place in many parts of the world and in different areas of ship activity. It includes the full production, development and implementation of International Safety Management (ISM Code), ISO 9000-2000, Assessments and Plans under the International Ship & Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code for ship and port, Health Environment and Safety Impact Assessment, environmental and risk management systems in ship operating organisations and EU/TRACECA Project work on Maritime Training. In addition Knightsmart Limited provides shipboard and office training in the various codes and management systems that are in use in shipping, safety and commercial aspects; internal auditing (based on relevant standard) of a ship or company’s management system including ISM and ISPS, induction and familiarisation systems for large ship management companies and single ship operations. Most courses and work carried out is provided for individual companies or operations, though occasional public courses are provided. The director of Knightsmart Limited is a professional and qualified seafarer who sailed as Master, has an honours degree in Business Administration and Law, had a career as lecturer in business and law, manager in large ship management companies, lead auditor and management systems developer.
